ITINERARY

Overview

Odisha is the soul of incredible India, famous for its grand Kalinga-style architecture, spiritual significance, and pristine coastline. This itinerary covers the state’s most iconic temples, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the sacred beach town of Puri.

Morning: Arrive in Bhubaneswar. Visit the Lingaraj Temple (from the viewing platform) and the Mukteshvara Temple, known as the "gem of Odisha architecture."
Afternoon: Explore the ancient Udayagiri and Khandagiri Caves, which date back to the 2nd century BCE and served as residential blocks for Jain monks.
Evening: Visit the Dhauli Shanti Stupa, the site of the Kalinga War, where Emperor Ashoka embraced Buddhism. Enjoy the evening light and sound show.
Night: Overnight stay in Bhubaneswar.

Morning: Drive to Konark (1.5 hours). Marvel at the Sun Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site designed as a colossal chariot for the Sun God with 24 intricately carved stone wheels.
Afternoon: Drive along the scenic Marine Drive to Puri. Visit the Jagannath Temple, one of the four sacred Char Dham pilgrimage sites (note: non-Hindus can view it from a nearby platform).
Evening: Relax at the Puri Beach, known for its golden sands and the famous sand art created by local artists.
Night: Overnight stay in Puri.

Morning: Visit Raghurajpur, a heritage crafts village famous for Pattachitra (traditional cloth-based scroll painting) and Gotipua dance.
Afternoon: If time permits, take a quick trip to Chilika Lake (Satapada) to spot the rare Irrawaddy dolphins.
Evening: Drive back to Bhubaneswar and transfer to Biju Patnaik International Airport or the railway station for your departure.
Travel Tip: Try the local Chhena Poda (Odisha’s signature burnt cheesecake) and shop for Sambalpuri silk or silver filigree work from Cuttack.
